ViewSonic ViewPad 10 Pro Review - IT Reviews

ViewSonic-ViewPad-10Pro-IT-Reviews.jpg

IT Reviews have published a review of the ViewSonic ViewPad 10 Pro 10in dual-OS Android/Windows 7 tablet. 'The ViewSonic ViewPad 10 Pro is available in a number of different configurations, and you can opt to add 3G into the mix if you want. Whichever you go for, you get Windows 7 Professional and Android 2.2. An earlier 10in dual-OS tablet from ViewSonic offered Windows 7 Home Premium and Android 1.6. Pairing Windows 7 and Android is actually quite a smart thing to do, and it is implemented fairly cleverly. Android sits on top of Windows, and runs in a player provided by a company called BlueStacks. Because both operating systems are running at the same time, you get some interesting crossover.'

ViewSonic ViewPad 10pro Review - ZDNet

ViewSonic-ViewPad-10pro-ZDNet.jpg

ZDNet have published a review of the ViewSonic ViewPad 10pro tablet. 'The ViewPad 10pro weighs 800g for the Wi-Fi-only version, or 850g for Wi-Fi plus 3G, and feels quite heavy when held in one hand for any length of time. Both the Windows-based Acer Iconia Tab W500 (970g) and Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 (870g) are heavier, although the Android-based Asus Eee Pad Transformer (680g) and the iOS-based Wi-Fi/3G iPad 2 (613g) are considerably lighter. In landscape mode, the ViewPad 10pro measures 26.3cm wide by 17.4cm deep by 1.49-1.65cm thick, which makes it fairly easy to carry around. As with several other tablets we've seen recently, the 10.1in. screen looks a little lost thanks to a large bezel.'

ViewSonic-ViewPad-10-PC-Advisor.jpg

PC Advisor have published a review of the ViewSonic ViewPad 10 tablet. 'We liked the ViewSonic ViewPad 10's demure black-and-dull-silver case and its three-button layout. One of the buttons is the power on/off. The second button has a Home icon but actually takes you back one screen at a time in Android mode and works as the Alt-Tab key combination (which shuffles through open windows) in Windows. The third button, which has an icon that resembles Android's "Go Back" symbol, actually works as a Menu button in Android and turns the Wi-Fi on/off in Windows. The 10in display with 1024 x 600 resolution is bright with rich colours; like most tablets, it automatically reorients itself when rotated, if slowly in Windows. It responds to subtle finger movements and interprets two-finger gestures, like spreading your thumb and forefinger to zoom in.'

ViewSonic G Tablet Review - HotHardware

ViewSonic-G-Tablet-HotHardware.jpg

HotHardware have published a review of the ViewSonic G Tablet. 'The capacitive touch screen on the gTablet is relatively responsive and, as with most tablets and larger smartphone devices on the market today, it will change orientation depending on how your hold it. Seen here is the gTablet with a stock Android 2.2 (FroYo) homescreen. The gTablet's Android-based navigation buttons on the top right edge of the slate are also capacitive touch enabled. There are buttons for search, home, menu and back navigation functions. The screen itself on the gTablet has a native resolution of 1024X600, which is a modest number of pixels for a display of this size and aspect, though we'd always take a higher resolution. Some 10-inch netbooks support 1366X768 resolution, for example, in a 10.1-inch LCD.'

Viewsonic-Viewpad-10-Computeractive.jpg

A review of the Viewsonic Viewpad 10 Android tablet has been posted over at Computeractive. 'The Viewpad looks identical to the Novatech nTablet, although the Viewpad has no mobile broadband capability - there is a slot to insert a phone Sim card but it doesn't work. At one end of the tablet are two USB sockets, a connector for an external display (Viewsonic told us it does not yet have the cables for this) and a micro-SD memory card slot. There is also a headphone socket and a built-in microphone. The top edge has three small status lights next to the webcam.'

ViewSonic ViewPad 7 Review - PC Advisor

ViewSonic-ViewPad-7-PC-Advisor.jpg

PC Advisor have published a review of the ViewSonic ViewPad 7 Android tablet. 'The ViewSonic ViewPad is one of two new Android tablets from the company best known for its computer screens. The other, the ViewSonic ViewPad 10, is a 10in model that dual boots into Windows 7 too - it remains to be seen how well it pulls that off. The ViewSonic ViewPad 7, however, is a largely successful and likable Android Froyo 2.2 tablet that is more like a Filofax than a tablet PC. Wrapped in a smart, slip-resistant folio case with a lid that's secured by an elastic strap, we took the ViewSonic ViewPad 7 on several commutes without realising we had been lugging it around London. It weighs 375g without its jacket, but 517g with it.'

Viewsonic G Tablet Review - Laptop Mag

Viewsonic-G-Tablet-Laptop-Mag.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published a review of the Viewsonic G Tablet. 'At 10.5 x 6.8 x 0.5 inches, the G Tablet isn't the smallest slate on the block by any stretch. At 1.55 pounds, it weighs as much as the iPad. It's much bulkier than the iPad and the 7-inch Galaxy Tab, though. The glossy black plastic on the front and the matte black on the back look and feel a bit cheap. We could hear the slate creaking in our hand when we picked it up. On the left side of the G Tablet, you'll find a headphone jack, a mini USB port for connecting to the PC, a full size USB port for attaching USB drives, and a microSD card reader. Unfortunately, you can't charge the G Tablet via USB. Instead, you must a dedicated AC adpater that connnects to its own jack on the slate. A docking port on the bottom of the G Tablet is designed to support HDMI output, but there's no mention of an adapter on ViewSonic's site.'

ViewSonic ViewPad 10 Review - Trusted Reviews

ViewSonic-ViewPad-10-TrustedReviews.jpg

A review of the ViewSonic ViewPad 10 has been posted over at Trusted Reviews. 'In terms of specifications, the ViewPad 10 is actually closer to a netbook than a mobile phone. As its name suggests, it features a 10in screen, making it slightly bigger than the 9.7in display of Apple's famous tablet. Unfortunately its resolution isn't as high at 1,024 x 600, but this is hardly surprising as it is identical to that found on practically every netbook and affordable tablet around. Potentially its most exciting feature though is that is will dual boot into either Android or a full-fat version of Windows 7! In terms of looks and design, the 10 is one classy device. Its glass-fronted screen is perfectly integrated into a glossy black bezel vaguely reminiscent of the iPad's, with a brushed aluminium back completing its premium look and feel. The bezel is kept clean but for three menu buttons, subtle status indicators and an unobtrusive 1.3megapixel webcam. It felt very sturdy in the hand too, though as a result is quite heavy at 835g (the Wi-Fi iPad weighs only 680g).'

ViewSonic VEB620 Review - PC Advisor

By Admin on July 22, 2010 4:31 AM | No Comments

ViewSonic-VEB620-PC-Advisor.jpg

PC Advisor have published their review of the ViewSonic VEB620 ebook reader. 'The ViewSonic VEB620 doesn't have WiFi, or a touchscreen. But our experience with book readers suggests that keeping things simple improves the reader. Slow processors and slow E Ink screen refreshes on most ebook readers don't sit well with touch browsing or internet surfing. If you disagree, Viewsonic has the VEB625 model further up which sports both touchscreen and WiFi. But if you really want a touch-screen handheld device with WiFi connectivity and a colour display, you're be better off with an iPad. Or waiting for the imminent arrival of countless Google tablets.'

ViewSonic VEB620 Review - IT Reviews

ViewSonic-VEB620-IT-Reviews.jpg

IT Reviews have published a review of the ViewSonic VEB620 ereader. 'The VEB620 and its close cousin the VEB625 are the company's first ereaders, and they are over-priced, under-featured pieces of kit which won't help establish ViewSonic in this relatively new and fast evolving market. The VEB620 is the first of the duo to become available. The VEB625 adds Wi-Fi and a touch screen, but is otherwise identical. The ViewSonic VEB620 comes in either black or white. Either way you get a slipcase to protect it in transit. With or without the case the device is just a bit large for most pockets, though its 6-inch screen gives you less viewing area than you get with the average paperback book.'
