The Android Guys have published a review of the Toshiba Thrive Android Tablet. 'On paper, the Thrive is as good as its competition, if not better. The full-sized USB, HDMI, and SD card slots give it an edge over the XOOM and Galaxy Tab 10.1. Tossing in a 30-pin dock connector and mini-USB port and Toshiba leaves the door wide open for expanded functionality and added benefit. The 3.1 release of Honeycomb allows for the Android Open Accessory protocol so I imagine there should be problems supporting hardware from outside sources. The 5-megapixel camera is good, not great, and the speakers are as loud and clear as we'd like them to be. It's very easy to go "tinny" with speakers mobile devices and Thrive is occasionally guilty of sometimes shrill audio. Generally speaking, however, we were impressed with sound quality of the tablet. Getting back to the camera, the pictures and 720p video are impressive providing you have the right lighting.'

Dev Hardware have published a review of the HP TouchPad and the Toshiba Thrive tablets. 'In terms of design, the gloss black HP TouchPad is not exactly the best that the tablet market has to offer. The plastic backing does nothing but accumulate smudges and fingerprints. Not only does it look bad after a few minutes of usage, but it lacks a comfortable grip that you would come to expect from a device that is meant for handheld usage. The TouchPad measures 9.5 inches tall by 7.5 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and weighs 1.6 pounds. Its thickness is a bit bulkier than one would ideally want out of a tablet, but the device does appear to be solidly built and sturdy.'

Tablet PC Review have published their review of the Toshiba Thrive Android tablet. 'The Toshiba Thrive looks tough, and that's probably because it's a bit more rugged than some of the other 10.1-inch tablets. That's not to say that it has a better build quality, just that it would be harder to snap in half owing to its thickness. Viewed head on, the Thrive resembles its competition in that it is rectangular, with a 16:10 screen ration, with a thick black border framing the display and rounded corners. The top edge, when held in portrait mode, features a plastic silver half circle that houses the two-megapixel front-facing camera lens, indicator light, and on-board microphone. The edges also house power, battery, and wireless indicator lights as well as the ambient light sensor.'

Laptop Magazine have published their review of the Toshiba Thrive tablet. 'Toshiba's got back! At 10.75 x 6.7 x 0.6 inches and 1.6 pounds, the Tosiba Thrive is noticeably heavier and thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (9.7 x 6.7 x 0.34 inches, 1.2 pounds), the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer (10.7 x 6.9 x 0.5 inches, 1.4 pounds), and the Apple iPad 2 (9.5 x 7.3 x 0.3 inches, 1.3 pounds). What you get for the added heft is a sexy rubberized back plate with a textured ridge pattern that's easy to grip. It reminded us of the equally hot-looking lids on Toshiba Mini NB300 series of netbooks. Though the tablet comes with a black back, you can buy colorful replacement covers in Blue Moon, Green Apple.'
