PC Magazine have published their review of the Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer (HID-C10). 'Before we go any further, it's necessary to note that while the Dash is a direct competitor to the Chumby ($180, ) and the Chumby One (119.95, ), it is also a result of collaboration with the Chumby team. Chumby apps are available to download on the Dash, and even Sony's My Dash Web site, where you personalize your content choices by syncing to services like Slacker, Pandora, and Netflix, not only references the Chumby, but ends up being a Chumby URL. Sony worked closely with the company while designing the Dash. In fact, the Dash seems, more or less, like a souped-up Chumby.'

Sony Dash Review - CNET

CNET have published their review of the Sony Dash personal internet viewer. 'On the top of the Dash you'll see 2.5-inch-wide Menu button that also acts as a snooze for the built-in alarm clock. To its right, an inch-wide volume rocker allows fine control over audio. The back of the Dash is bare; the bottom houses a recessed power adapter input. Battery power is not an option. A hinged door on the side of the Dash gives access to a 3.5mm headphone output, as well as a standard USB port. In theory, users can load music, videos, or photos by connecting a thumb drive to the USB port, but the firmware on the unit we tested didn't allow it (it's coming soon, apparently).'

Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer Review - MobileTechReview

MobileTechReview have published a review of the Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer. 'The Dash has WiFi 802.11b/g and must be plugged into AC. Like a photo frame or high end digital clock radio, it doesn't run on batteries. Booting up takes 2 minutes, and you can unplug it to move it from room to room. This is not meant to be a portable Internet device, and given the size, you could carry it around all day but it doesn't beg to be taken with you as does the much smaller Chumby. For the price, we wish Sony had gone with WiFi 802.11n so that our entire n network didn't get dropped to g speeds (WiFi routers drop down connection protocol and speed to serve the lowest common denominator or WiFi client in this case).'
