Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review - Reg Hardware

By Admin on August 5, 2011 8:51 AM | No Comments

Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10-1-Reg-Hardware.jpg

Reg Hardware have published a review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android tablet. 'First up, the Galaxy Tab 10.1's screen is the same size as those found on a raft of other 10in tablets, including the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Acer Iconia Tab A500 and Motorola Xoom. In each case, the pixel resolution is the same too, at 1280 x 800. Do remember, though, that the Android 3.x (Honeycomb) operating system reserves 48 of those pixels along its bottom edge, in portrait and landscape orientations, for on-screen menu buttons. Practically all your apps are restricted to a on-screen area of 1232 x 800 or 1280 x 752 pixels. In landscape mode, that gives it less vertical resolution than Apple's current iPads, which offer full-screen 1024 x 768 at either orientation.'

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review - CNET

Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10-1-CNET.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb tablet. 'The first thing that struck us upon taking the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 out of its box was its slim profile. In fact, when it's lying next to the iPad 2 we honestly can't tell which tablet is thicker and unfortunately we don't have a micrometer handy to get down into the business of microns. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 weighs 1.24 pounds, compared with the iPad 2's 1.32 pounds. Rather than several paragraphs filled with confusing numbers, I thought a chart would be much more appropriate. Here's a handy chart to illustrate the size differences between the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and other recent tablets.'

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review - PC Advisor

Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10-1-PC-Advisor.jpg

PC Advisor have published a review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet PC. 'Like the Samsung Galaxy S II Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is made from sturdy feeling plastic and has a carbon-like finish on the rear. This adds style, and makes the tablet easy to grip. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 feels well built despite its plastic body and manages to remain lightweight at 599g. However, it does lack the premium feel of the Apple iPad 2 and the rear casing creaks when pressed near the charging port. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1's power button and volume control are the only physical buttons on the tablet. A side mounted headphone jack, a bottom-mounted proprietary charging/synchronising port and a SIM card slot keep the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1's shell relatively clean looking.'

Samsung Galaxy Tab Review - PC Perspective

By Admin on January 28, 2011 12:35 AM | No Comments

Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-PC-Perspective.jpg

PC Perspective have published a review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. 'Beyond a bigger screen size, hardware in the Galaxy Tab is extremely similar to the Samsung Galaxy S series of phones. Both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab feature the Hummingbird processor core, developed by fabless semiconductor company, Intrinisty. This is an interesting detail, as the Apple A4 processor, first introduced in the iPad, and the Hummingbird core were both developed by by the same company, and are similar. However, since the development of this chip, Apple has purchased Intrinsity.'
