Philips-Gogear-Opus-8GB-Computeractive.jpg

A review of the Philips Gogear Opus 8GB portable media player has been posted over at Computeractive,co,uk. 'The player is a wide, lozenge-shaped device that has a screen on one side and a control pad on the other. It was easy to use with the clear menus showing up well on the bright screen. There is not much clutter, just options for playing music and video, listening to the radio and changing the settings.'

Philips-GoGear-Aria-AnythingButiPod.jpg

AnythingButiPod have published their review of the Philips GoGear Aria portable media player. 'The Aria is something in between an Insignia Pilot and a Meizu M6, design wise. It's a landscape-only player meaning the screen is 220x176 pixels not 176x220, with the controls on the right not the bottom. The 2" screen covers part of the front along with a 7-way d-pad. There aren't many players with 7-way d-pads on the market and most of them have a scroll wheel for volume in those 7 controls (iPod nano/classic, Sansa Fuze/e200/view etc) but the Aria actually has a fully tactile 7-way d-pad as well as regular volume buttons on top.'

Philips-GoGear-Vibe-AnythingButiPod.jpg

Anything But iPod have published their review of the Philips GoGear Vibe SA1VBE00K/17 MP3 player. 'The Vibe is probably the cutest player I have eve seen. There's just something about the size and shape of the thing that looks so adorable. It might be the fact that between the general shape, screen/control pad placement and the recessed bump in the middle it frankly looks like a baby-ZVM. The front has a 4-way d-pad, the right side has the volume control and options button and the left side has the hold/power switch. The 3.5mm jack, lanyard hole, mic and USB port is on the bottom.'

Philips-GoGear-Spark-AnythingButiPod.jpg

A review of the Philips GoGear Spark SA2925R/37 MP3 player has been posted over at Anything But iPod. The GoGear Spark is a very small player. Compared to a Sansa Clip with the clip on (or a Clip+) it has about the same physical volume, just a different shape. It's square with rounded corners, a flat back and a convex clear plastic front that essentially is a mirror when the screen is off. The concave front and the sloping sides that lead to a back that's smaller than the front makes the device look sort of like an old CRT TV cut off in the back. The screen is a 1.5" color OLED screen which really sets it apart from other small players. While it's low resolution, OLED means it has a perfect viewing angle and since the pixels light up instead of the back of the screen it looks awesome when dimmed; half glowing instead of the normal dimmed colors you get with LCDs.'

Philips-GoGear-Aria.jpg

A review of the Philips GoGear Aria MP3 player has been posted over at the Head Fi Forums. 'The GoGear Aria has a hold switch on the bottom and volume controls at the top (similar to the SA6145). The controls are completely different from previous models, with separate back and options buttons at the top next to the screen , with next/previous buttons around the right side. A up/down navigator is in the center with a play pause button in the middle. The screen is very beautiful-2.0" and is quite bright.'

Philips GoGear Muse Review - CNET Asia

Philips-GoGear-Muse-CNETAsia.jpg

CNETAsia have published their review of the Philips GoGear Muse (16GB) digital player. 'Sporting a 3-inch display, the Muse measures 110 x 55 x 8.9mm, acceptable for a player of such a screen size. The unit features physical buttons to control all the functions. Apart from those mentioned above, there are a noise-canceling switch and a volume control rocker at the top of the device, plus a Creative Zen-like slider power switch that also locks and unlocks the button functions. The headphone port still resides at the bottom of the player. While this location keeps the wires away from the hands, it also makes the Muse pocket-unfriendly since the headphone plug would jut out from the bottom. The headphone jack comes with extra contact points which the bundled noise-canceling in-ear headphones require for microphone operation.'

Philips-GoGear-Mix.jpg

A review of the Philips GoGear Mix (4GB) MP3 player has been posted over at CNET.com.au. 'The Mix is like its more expensive brethren minus the video playback functionality. It plays MP3, WMA and WAV audio files and can hold about 1000 tracks on its 4GB of internal storage (depending on the lengths of tracks and how they are encoded). It also features an FM radio tuner and a built-in voice recorder, both handy features for the rare occasions you may have to use them.'

Philips-GoGear-Muse.jpg

The Register Hardware have published a review of the Philips GoGear Muse personal media player. 'In the hand, the Muse looks more like a thin mobile phone than a media player. The lettering on the fascia clearly indicates that the device is supposed to be held landscape-style, with the controls to the right of the 3in screen. Yet, even after a week of use we still tended to pick it up and hold it so the controls were at the bottom. Physically, the Muse is a solid device, and a smart one too, with its brushed metal back and sides and glossy black fascia housing a flush screen. It won't take up too much pocket space either, measuring up at 110 x 8.9 x 55mm and weighing 95g, which is on a par with Samsung's P3.'

Philips-GoGear-Vibe-Review.jpg

CNET Australia have published their review of the Philips GoGear Vibe MP3 player. 'The face of the Vibe holds its greatest strength and weakness. The top half of the player's front includes a feature found on few MP3 players in this price range -- a colour screen. For about AU$120, you're lucky to get any screen at all, much less a 1.5-inch screen capable of photos, videos and album artwork. Sure the resolution is crud, and you'll really need to crank up the Vibe's brightness to read it in broad daylight, but it's still a feature worth bragging about to anyone dangling their Sansa Clip in front of you.'

Philips-GoGear-Vibe.jpg

A review of the Philips GoGear Vibe 4GB portable player has been posted over at ChipChick.com. 'The GoGear Vibe's black glossy design itself is slick and easy on the eye. Its body is small with curved edges so the ease of portability is there, but unfortunately the quality of the operational buttons are a bit stiff. You can also hear a bit of clicking noise when you press on the buttons. However for this price point, I guess you can't complain too much since it is a MP3/Video player after all. Overall, the GoGear Vibe is a very portable device, fitting into the palm of my hand, it is great for running or using at the gym. I used it every morning for 1 hour in the gym and it lasted 7 days without having to recharge. The battery life is rated at 25 hours for audio and 4 hours for video.'
