The Photography Blog previews the new Epson P3000 Multimedia Storage Viewer. 'The P-3000 is the first multimedia storage viewer on the market to incorporate a four-colour filter system, for ultra-sharp images. Where standard LCD technology uses red, green and blue (RGB) filters, Epson’s Photo Fine Ultra screen uses red, blue, emerald green and yellow green, which enables colours to be reproduced at a more natural level than has ever been seen before. It also extends the colour range of the red and blue filters enabling the Epson P-3000 to register a wider range of red and blue tones. Combined with a screen size of 4.0” and a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, the Photo Fine Ultra LCD viewer supports the latest ultra-high resolution cameras and marks a new standard of excellence in the storage device market.'

Epson P-3000 Review - Register Hardware

Epson-P-3000-Reviewed.jpg

A review of the Epson P-3000 portable multimedia storage viewer has been posted over at the Register Hardware. 'One of the areas Epson has really concentrated on is the P-3000's screen - sorry, "Photo Fine Ultra LCD Viewer". It's certainly good enough for professional field use and supports most image files, including Raw, Adobe's DNG and JPEG files. The big news is the PMP-first use of a four-colour filter system creating 16.7m colours, which means the P-3000's 640 x 480 screen can display images encoded in Adobe RGB colour space by splitting ordinary green into emerald green and yellow green alongside the conventional red and blue (RGB). This not only increases detail levels but also widens the entire colour gamut making shots more realistic and natural.'

Epson Photo Viewer P-5000 Review - Pocket-Lint

Epson-Photo-Viewer-P-5000-Reviewed.jpg

Pocket-Lint have published a review of the Epson Photo Viewer P-5000 USB 80GB multimedia storage viewer. 'Epson’s P5000 viewer provides a compact high-capacity storage and multimedia-viewing system, which, like its forbear the P4000, combines excellent screen quality, plenty of storage space, ease of use and tough build quality. And what you get is a tough little device that provides card format compatibility aplenty including SD/SDHC and Multimedia cards (up to 1GB restriction for the latter), CF Type I/II that, of course, includes Micro Drives. Use of an appropriate adapter means other card formats can be used as well, but these are optional extras of course.'

Epson P-7000 Photo Viewer Review - Hardware Geeks

Epson-P-7000-Photo-Viewer.jpg

A review of the Epson P-7000 Multimedia Photo Viewer has been posted over at HardwareGeeks.com. 'You can also use the P-7000 to view the histogram of the picture, and it tells you all of the picture properties from Shutter speed to ISO, resolution, and the format. But there is more, you can also view videos on the P-7000 and the quality is great, you can even play music. In fact I used it as an MP3 player on my flight from NY to Los Angeles. If it weren’t for the P-7000 I would have been bored to death as the in flight entertainment system on my Delta flight was not working.'
