Reg Hardware have published a review of the Dixons Advent Vega 10in Android tablet. 'Let's start with the hardware. The Vega's netbook-like 1024 x 600 display is a widescreen job, and while 16:9 aspect ratios are all the rage in laptops, it feels entirely wrong on a tablet. Hold it in landscape mode and it's fine, but flip to portrait and it's just too darn narrow. Dixons' developers must have spotted this early on, because the Vega is so clearly designed to be held in a landscape orientation. In that mode, the webcam is at the top of the screen, ditto the power key. The dock connector at the bottom of the tablet, and the HDMI, USB and Micro SD ports on the right-hand side.'

A review of the Advent Vega tablet has been posted over at Tracy and Matt. 'The two most notable things about the build of this tablet are, it's likeness to the iPad and the plastic construction. At present this is easily the closest in looks to that of the iPad but it wouldn't take too much to tell them apart. The device is quite a bit thicker than an iPad however it's noticeably lighter. Also the construction of the Vega is completely plastic. It might sound off putting, like with the Galaxy Tab, however the construction is quite solid. Easily better than the Archos 101 but not quite a robust as the Tab. It's passable and shouldn't really be a concern, unlike what other online reviews might make out.'

PC Advisor have published a review of the Advent Vega Android tablet. 'The Advent Vega takes the same basic form as the iPad, then cheapens it each direction in order to reduce the price tag. Where the original has a glass multi-touch IPS screen rich in colour and viewable from any angle, the Advent Vega has a budget plastic TN screen with weak colour when used face on.That's at its best - when tilted by a view degrees as you naturally do when holding it, the screen can fade to black tones and become an unviewable mess. Resolution is comparable to iPad, but at 1024x600 instead of 1024x768 pixels, we see it's taking a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio.'
