A review of the Cowon S9 touchscreen portable media player has been posted over at Edd Noble. 'Video wise it plays a lot of codecs out of the box (DivX, Xvid, WMV) so most of the time there is no need to re-code (unlike Sony and Apple) but firmware upgrades add more support, not everything but it's pretty good. It will play some MKV files, I know it's just a container but you know what I mean. The audio for the movies gets the same treatment as the music so that's great! The image quality on the AMOLED screen is almost as rediculously good as the audio! When I watched StarWars on there the space scenes are so deep because of the black levels I had to watch them all on here just to see them properly for the first time ever! Honestly better than any TV I have ever seen!... just small =P. Yeah ok it doesn't work well in the sun but I never expected miracles.'
