Slacker G2 Personal Radio Player Review - PC Mag

PC Magazine have published a review of the Slacker G2 Personal Radio player. 'The Slacker Portable was innovative but bulky for a flash-based player, at 4.6 ounces and 4.2 by 2.8 by 0.7 inches (HWD). By contrast, the 2.6-ounce G2 is a compact 3.4 by 2.1 by 0.5 inches and fits more easily in a pocket, though it feels solid. The screen got a little smaller, too, the 320-by-240-pixel display is now just 2.4 inches, compared with the Portable's 4-inch display. The other big problem with the Slacker Portable was with its touch-sensitive navigation strip that, to be blunt, simply didn't work. The Slacker G2 wisely eschews this failed navigation system in favor of a simple jog dial and Home button on the player's right-hand side that make the device much easier to operate in one hand. Slacker also made some aesthetic improvements on the G2. The sides are rubberized for better grip, and the back features a silver finish with the cool-looking winged Slacker logo.
